    Saracens Club Partnership Programme

Saracen's view on the CPP, from Dave Hesketh Saracens's rugby partnership manager:

The aim of this scheme is to develop our relationships with the local junior clubs in Essex, Hertfordshire and North London and establish relationships which provide value and benefits to the clubs as well as providing a tangible return for Saracens Ltd.

During the ‘off season’ we contacted a number of junior clubs we have worked with in the past to try to find out their thoughts and opinions on issues such as ticketing, player visits and how we (as a Premiership Club) could best support them.  From these discussions we launched the following Programme which benefits local junior rugby clubs at senior, junior and mini level:

1.     Ticketing (Club Ticket Initiative)

·         Discounted tickets are made available to club which they can sell, and make money for their club to buy equipment or add to club funds.

·         Saracens will help clubs to promote the matches by different age groups being involved in pre-match activities (including tag/contact games, relays and the ‘Guard of Honour’), themed matches or Coaching Roadshows.

2.     Communication

·         We will post your club details and a link on saracens.com to your club website.

·         In return we would require a return link on your website and the opportunity to communicate with your club members via emails, newsletters or mailings.

·         We will provide a weekly update for you to communicate on to your members with details of the events organised through the Clubs Programme as well as information about the squad.

3.     Adopt a Player Scheme

·         Those clubs involved in the Club Ticket Initiative will have one or two professional players allocated to them, who will visit a number of times over the year.

4.      Coach Development

·         Regular ‘Coaches emails with sessions and advice about coaching.

·         Three ‘coach the coaches’ sessions to help improve coaching standards within the clubs

·         The opportunity for Partner Club Coaches to spend days at Bramley Road training ground – see the players train and meet the coaches to discuss modern .

5.      Community Development

·         We can provide support and advice on your own development programmes or with securing funding.

New For Next Season?

Ø       The 2004-5 season is being launched with the London Double Header.  This event is two matches being held a Twickenham between the four London Premiership Clubs.  Saracens will be playing London Wasps and members of our Partner Clubs will be eligible for discounted tickets and the opportunity to get involved in pre-match activities.  This should be a great opportunity to kick off the 2004-5 season at YOUR club. (To Be Confirmed).

Ø       We are currently exploring the possibility of providing members of our Partner Clubs the opportunity of FREE MEMBERSHIP to our Junior Fan Club – “Sarrie’s Squad”.  We hope that if we can secure a sponsor we will be able to provide every member with a free Gilbert rugby ball, in addition to other benefits.

Saracens are a community focussed club, who is commited to see the sport and the local junior clubs develop in our area.  We are therefore keen to develop our relationship with your club and it’s members, providing the opportunity to attend Premiership matches as well as helping you as a club achieve some of it’s objectives through coach development, valuing volunteers and increasing participation. Being a Saracens Club Partner can also entitle the club to take up other opportunities as they come up over the season – for example all our partner clubs were recently invited to have their photographs taken with the Webb Ellis Trophy.
